MEET THE FOUNDER

JORDAN YOUNG

As a seasoned basketball trainer with over 20 years of experience, I offer extensive expertise to the court. I made history as the Penn State University Lehigh Valley program's first 1,000-point men's scorer, and graduated in 2017 with a degree in Rehabilitation & Human Services. During my time at PSULV, I earned several awards, including USCAA Division II Student Athlete of the Year and 2x Male Athlete of the Year. I've coached at Moravian University and both Freedom and Liberty High School. Currently, I am participating in various basketball camps across the Lehigh Valley region and growing my training business.

FAQs

Do you offer individual or group training sessions?

Individual sessions are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Group sessions are highly recommended, allowing athletes to build rapports and learn from each other. Email or DM regarding additional availability.

How do you handle skill differences in group training sessions?

Athletes are grouped by age to ensure that each one is appropriately challenged and able to develop at their own pace. I am skilled at providing individualized attention within a group setting. If they're up for the challenge, sign up for the older group.

Can parents watch the training sessions?

Yes, parents are welcome to watch the training sessions. With this being said, I recommend that parents refrain from watching sessions because athletes may stray away from focus.

What should my child bring to a training session?

It's recommended to bring a basketball. The athlete also needs appropriate athletic clothing, sneakers, a water, and a positive attitude.

Do you offer sessions for teams/organizations?

Yes. Reach out via email or any social media platform direct message and we will begin discussions to elevate your program, the Smooth Athletics way.

How long are training sessions?

Typically, sessions are 60 minutes. There are times sessions will roll over 60 minutes, but this will try to be kept limited.

What location do you use?

A majority of the sessions will be held at Burley's Gym, located in Phillipsburg, NJ. 224 Stockton St, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. If needed, Smooth Athletics will travel, bringing sessions to you. Reach out for more information.
